Given that it fails to do anything out of this world, I can’t give this Starbucks brew the top score. I guess if you’re having it with your partner, you may wish to leave it percolated in the jug. It should also be noted that the dark beans produce a great black coffee, not least because it won’t overpower you. The Starbucks Caffè Verona can be enjoyed through a basic instant coffee method, it’s equally suited to be put through the coffee press, or a coffee maker. While I do kinda get why Starbucks has made a big deal about Verona being romantic (not least due to Romeo and Juliet), it’s a blend that I’d consider good enough for daily consumption each morning. If you like a rich, smooth coffee that provides a good kick. Likewise, given the strong caffeine hit, a lot of people will seek a weaker brew, and a blonde roast is the better option for those. Anyone that wants a more noticeable bitterness may want to look elsewhere. Who Will Enjoy It?Īs with most coffees, the Caffe Verona isn’t for everyone. The traditional approach is highly appreciated. The non-acidic flavor is a particularly popular element, especially as this something a growing number of blends are falling victim to. Most people seem to enjoy the flavor as well as the aromas, which do get softer after brewing. Many noted the same points as I had while additionally noting the moist, fresh, grains – which I had noticed too. Customer rating value is very important foe coffee lovers. The classically comforting velvety tones make the Caffè Verona a blend that’d I’d happily drink again. Whether drinking alone, with a friend, or with your partner as suggested, Caffè Verona is a great option for fans of darker roasts. Without being a coffee that you’ll be thinking about for days after consumption, it’s certainly a pleasant tasting experience. Thankfully, the dark cocoa texture, velvety and comforting tasting notes of ground coffee are not disrupted by any bitter aftertaste, which does the Latin America tones justice. My biggest fear was that the dark beans would be a little bitter or acidic. There are a fair few different elements working together, but it doesn’t feel like an overly complicated mix, which (in my opinion) is positive. I’d describe it as a nice balance between sweet and roasty tones while there is a definite hint of cherry mixed in too. Upon opening the packet, the initial hit of rich dark bean smells and aromas is pleasant and exciting without being overpowering.
